Independent guide
Editorial Policy: Sources, Reviews & Corrections
Our guides use linked primary sources and practical comparisons. We distinguish checked facts, suggested plans and conditions that must be confirmed for each visit.
Readers should be able to see what a guide is based on and where its limits lie. These standards apply to the English and French content on Champagny-en-Vanoise.com.
Sources and fact checking
We prioritise the tourist office, lift operator, transport companies, national park, facilities and accommodation operators for information they control. A general directory helps identify an option; a property’s own information is needed for its specific facilities and terms.
When sources disagree, we explain the uncertainty or leave out the disputed detail. We avoid unsupported prices, route grades, opening claims and claims of accessibility. A website listing cannot replace an assessment of conditions in the mountains.
How content is prepared
AI assistance is used to research, organise, draft and review text. The source and language checks recorded on pages are editorial checks of the retained content; they do not represent a named local expert, an independent human certification or a personal visit. First-hand experience appears only when explicitly documented.
Suggested itineraries are planning examples. Readers should match them to their ability, transport and the current conditions. We do not present static snow, weather or webcam pages as live feeds.
Updates and translations
A source’s checked date records a consultation. A page’s update date records a substantive editorial change. Neither is automatically refreshed to imply new research. When English content changes materially, the corresponding French content is reviewed against that version. Missing translations are not advertised as available pages.
Recommendations and commercial links
Comparisons explain location, suitability and trade-offs rather than claim an untested ranking. Affiliate links are disclosed near the relevant content and in the affiliate policy. Providers control availability, prices and booking conditions.
Corrections
Send the affected page address and supporting evidence to our contact email. Material corrections should be considered across both languages. We do not promise a fixed response time or invent a review history.
