A Ski Week in Champagny-en-Vanoise
Build a Champagny ski week around lesson times and the village gondola. Start locally, keep one lighter day, and attempt longer linked-area days only when ability and operating conditions fit.

A rewarding ski week needs less rushing on the first morning and a little room to change plans. Set up the essentials before filling every day with ambitious routes.
Before arrival
Choose accommodation with a daily journey to the gondola that works in ski boots and with children’s equipment. Book lessons by actual level, then confirm the required pass. ESF distinguishes restricted Champagny coverage for some early levels from La Plagne coverage needed for progression; the pass guide explains the choice.
Arrange equipment fitting around the arrival time. Ask where you can store skis and whether late key collection is possible if your transfer is delayed.
A flexible week
| Stage | Main aim |
|---|---|
| Arrival | Settle in, fit equipment and find tomorrow’s meeting point |
| First ski day | Learn the local connections and establish a comfortable return |
| Next days | Follow lessons and build confidence before extending the area |
| Midweek | Take a lighter ski day or an upper-valley outing |
| Later in the week | Consider a longer La Plagne or Paradiski day if the group is ready |
| Final day | Leave time for packing, equipment returns and travel |
The sequence is a suggestion, not a fixed route. Put the longer outing on a day with suitable visibility, open connections and enough time to return.
Organise lessons and family meetups
Check both ends of each lesson. ESF’s meeting information distinguishes morning group lessons from other classes and includes specific arrangements for Club Piou Piou. Do not assume the collection point matches the start. Non-skiing parents should ask about the appropriate pedestrian ticket or accompaniment service.
Agree a lunch meeting place everyone can reach, including those without ski passes. Lesson planning and non-skier ideas help mixed groups avoid spending the week waiting for one another.
Give yourself an alternative
A Nordic day in Champagny-le-Haut, guided snowshoe outing, pool session or Glacialis visit can break up the week. Check each activity’s opening and access separately. Before every ski day, consult the official opening sources and plan the return before leaving your local sector.

Common questions
Should I buy Paradiski for the whole week?
Choose the pass for your lesson level and planned skiing. The wider product is useful only if you intend and are able to use the linked area. Confirm with the school before buying for beginners.
Where do I collect children after lessons?
Meeting and return places can differ. Follow your course confirmation and ESF’s current instructions; a morning start at the gondola base can finish at the top.
Should I plan to ski on departure day?
Only if checkout, luggage, equipment returns and transport leave a comfortable margin. Keep the final day simple when a train or flight is fixed.
